Services
Strides Interactive offers a range of services that brings value to any IT companies; no matter how big or small.
C++ Training
We offer a small but affordable range of courses that will help your company gain the visibility that it might not have gotten through paper qualifications.
Why?
A paper qualification only says what the bearer has been taught; it doesn’t necessarily prove that the bearer has full knowledge on the subject matter.
In Strides Interactive, we make your programmers understand core concepts of C++ and bridge as many knowledge gaps as possible to prepare them for real-world development. To that end, the candidates are not the only ones involved in the training. To increase its effectiveness, we’re also including the management to be part of the whole skill improvement process.
The management shall now have a clear visibility on not only the current knowledge of their programmers, they now will know the potentials of their programmers as well.

Training Process Flow
Unlike many normal training classes out there, where trainers and their respective clients do not have direct contact on progress, here’s how we do it in Strides Interactive.
Stage 1 - Qualifications
To qualify for our training programmes, the potential candidates selected by the company must undergo a pre-examination paper set for the course.
If the candidate does extremely well or extremely badly in the exams, recommendations will be provided to the respective management on how the candidate should proceed; we do not train candidates that are either under-qualified or over-qualified.
This is again, a measure to help our customers identify real talents and cut down funding for courses that are unnecessary or isn’t beneficial to the programmer.
There’s no additional costs for attempting the Pre-Examinations and there’s no additional charge should the candidate be found unsuitable. (*)
Pre-examinations typically take place around 1-2 weeks before the agreed training dates.
Stage 2 - Training
Once the candidates are filtered through stage 1, they’ll proceed towards the training itself. The syllabus of the training must be agreed upon by the management prior to commencement.
In good faith, the syllabus may be altered slightly to accommodate specific customer requirements and this modifications will be reserved and kept confidential within our records.
Trainings should be conducted at a conducive site , preferrably a location at the customer’s office. Arrangements may be made with training centers for external training sessions. However, the costs of renting a room for training shall be borne entirely by the customer.
Typically, a course lasts only for 2 full days.
Stage 3 - Exams
This stage is optional though strongly recommended for visibility purposes. Exams will take place on the later half of the session on the 2nd day of training. The papers will then be marked and distributed back to the candidates on the spot.
The trainer will then go through the paper and answers.
Depending on customer’s requirements, we usually allow trainees to take their papers home. However, for those who are going for the re-examinations, it’d be better for a representative of the management to be there to collect it from the trainer.
The paper will last between 2-4 hours depending on the course.
Stage 4 - Management Reports
Again, this is an optional purchase item. However, it’s recommended for customers who wants to have a first-hand report on the potential, attitude, aptitude and intelligence of their programmers.
Management reports are based on the observations of the trainer during training. Depending the number of trainees present, the report will take a significant amount of time to complete.
Typically, the Management Reports will be ready within 2-3 weeks after the training session.
Stage 5 - Periodic Re-examinations
Periodic examinations is the final piece of the puzzle. This stage is to set the same group of trainees onto the same set of exam papers. Yes. The reason is to encourage active learning. Even if it means to remember it by heart, it’ll only serve to benefit the organization in the long run.
Periodic examinations are done at the customer’s own discretion. Typically, a re-examination might occurs 3-6 months after the initial training workshop. We do not preside over the re-examination.
However, there’s a cost involved to engage ourĀ trainers to mark the examination papers. Marking will commence within 2 working days and will be completed within 1-2 working days.
Postage fees will be handled both parties. Ie, customer pay to send, we’ll pay to return the papers.
(*) Stage 1 is free only if the customer has raised a PO prior. The quotation will then be sent after the pre-examination results are concluded.
Experience
Our trainers are well-versed in C++ and are experts in the topics taught to your programmers. They may not know everything, but they’ll ensure that your programmers learn whatever they teach in the syllabus.
We also have experience in software development, from technologies, processes, user interfaces and scripting, our greatest assets come from the knowledge base we’ve built over the years, manifested in the form of StridesLib, our Game Engine.
Another example of fruits of labour comes from Strides Octopus. This project has a history of 8 years of intermittent developments and improvements. Now it has matured into a viable product that produced the logic flow of Jedi Wing 2 (as seen in the Video section of our site).
Other freeware products include Jedi Wing and Hold’em Poker. Here’s a link to go direct to our download site : http://www.stridesdev.org/downloads/
Give us a try!
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, not just papers to warrant qualifications. We teach what we think should be taught and are transparent about it.
