Guild Master
This is a code name for a still unnamed game.
The basic concept of this game is as follows:
1) Trading
2) Space and planets as worlds
3) Spaceports as primary locations for interaction
4) Space wars
5) Stock exchange
6) Assets management
7) Fleet management
8) Strategy planning
9) Mission planning
10) Independent missions execution for ships
11) Real-time impact against stock exchange.
ie, if Company A invests 100,000,000 credits into a portion of the spaceport and a terrorist attack succeeded in destroying the investment, then its stocks will plunge!
Therefore, players can choose to be
1) Entreprenure
2) Pirate
3) Terrorist
4) Privateer
5) Mecernary
6) Smuggler
7) Official of a specific sovereign
Big scope, lots of technologies, made in 3D, no pause time (ie, unless u press the option screen)... a lot of pre-planning (via simple script instruction creation - NO CODING!)
One of the game ideas is to be able to give ships in ur fleet individual missions, orders or STANDING orders.
Missions :
Set by the player to effect a series of actions on the ship.
Orders :
Direct orders given to the ship for immediate effect. (ie, right click to move)
Standing Orders :
Also known as behavioral orders. For example, aggressive, defensive, escort, stand guard, etc

BBLib 2nd Iteration
BBLib 2nd Iteration is a 2nd version to the original BBLib games library.
By the time the 2nd Iteration is completed, it'll be renamed as StridesLib.
Why is StridesLib being chosen as the name? That's becoz Strides means progress, and although it may be slow, it's gradual and down-to-earth.
-- We may be slow, but we'll get there --

Technical 2D/3D Arts
A good location for technical junkies and artists to learn how to work together.
Sometimes, things are easily done by code rather than using brute-force art-work. Sometimes, it's the opposite case.
While some ppl argue that some things are right or wrong, we cannot ignore the fact that there is a nasty "technology" barrier between us in all cases.
Some technology can do games better with the artists doing most of the work, some are balanced while some require a lot of coding.
Here's in this forum, we shall throw out all the differences and try to find the best (most suitable) way to employ arts into games.

C/C++ Pointers
This is the forum to discuss about one of the prime evils in C++ ... POINTERS!! ... the nasty little stack variable with a * on the left on your variable name..
However, all is not over! I'll share one simple technique which will eliminate certain evils pointers has and convert this little devil into your ally!

Object Oriented Programming
This has been a long favourite of many deveopers as it allows visualization of objects in relation to objects in reality which makes understanding easier ..
But many a times, I've observed many developers including MYSELF, stray into the wrong concepts on OO such as abuses in using inheritance, or deriving objects which makes no sense other than reduction of code-duplication...
In this forum, we'll concentrate our topics specifically on OO in C++

Templates
This forum talks about the mysterious T that you often find in std::vectors for example.
We'll discuss its advantages, disadvantages, power and limitations of templates in details in this forum.

Documentation
This is something that most developers hate. But it's something that even I as a developer find that I must cultivate.
Documentations are not only for others. They're for yourelf as well coz you can never remember how every single line of code works in all your classes...
Of course, if UML is done to a certain extent, then it'll be good. But usually we're out of time to do such thing, much less to document our work.
In this forum, we'll discuss in detail of how much documentations is good enough for game projects.

Memory Basics
This forum talks about memory basics in C/C++ as opposed to other VM langugage like Java and C#.
No flame wars though. It's about understanding C/C++ memory basics more than flaming other people's memory basics.
