Installation Instructions
To install, just unzip the zip file into any folder and click on the msi file. The installer will take over.
Platform Support
Windows XP, all editions.
Windows Server 2003. I haven’t tested 2005 yet.
Windows Vista Business edition. The rest of the editions should be supported but I wasn’t able to test it on them yet.
Known Issues
Jedi Wing uses an old gamma ramp code in DirectX 7 to perform fading sequences. I’ve tested this against ATI and Nvdia cards respectively and found that Nvdia cards seem to have a problem triggering the fade sequence. The problem doesn’t crash the game but slows it down severely during the sequence. Everything seems to perform as per normal on both cards. This is so far the only known hardware problem in Jedi Wing.
Jedi Wing does have its share of bugs, some of which are good bugs that gives the player(s) an insane temporary advantage over their enemies. Others are more superficial in the context of vertical shooters. Another crash could occur during hibernations and standby modes. Hibernation is not supported and is highly discouraged as it would be for any other games out there. Do not hibernate while Jedi Wing is opened. As for standby modes, I’ve yet to identify the root problem for crashing. The bottom line is, when you play, don’t AFK.
This project lasted for 1.5 years. Here are some pictures to share:
